About DaveI was born in 1966 on a British island off of the east coast of the United States called Bermuda. I moved to California with my mom and dad when my dad, who was in the military, was transferred to Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California in 1967. When my dad retired from the Air Force in 1975, we moved to Pacific Beach in San Diego. I went to Pacific Beach Elementary, Pacific Beach Junior High, and Mission Bay High schools. At U.C.S.D. I majored in Economics and minored in Music at Revelle College. My teaching credential and Master’s Degree are from the United States International University in San Diego. In 1991 I began my teaching career at Audubon Elementary where I taught three years of K/1, one year of fifth grade and one year of third grade. I taught third grade at Grant Elementary from 1996 through 2003, Kindergarten from 2003 through 2022, and first grade during the 2022-2023 school year. In 2023 I began teaching fourth and fifth grade seminar at Grant School. I live in Pacific Beach.
When I am not teaching I like to surf, read, go for bike rides, skateboard, play Frisbee, go to church, make fancy desserts, play the piano, drums, accordion, ukulele, and guitar, and be with my friends. My favorites are; blue, surfing, spring rolls, 60’s cars, vegetables, teaching, God, classical music, funk music, French Cafe music, Traditional Irish and Italian music, black gospel, big block engines, the ocean, being outside in all kids of weather, and sunny days. The things that I don’t like are; cooked peas, lima beans, dancing, cloudy days unless it's raining, 70’s cars, four cylinder engines, standing in one place, rooms with no windows, losing things, walking slowly while shopping, and bad sound systems. |
