Herotodus
Herodotus (c. 484 – 425/413 BCE) was a Greek historian famous for his work Histories. He is considered The Father of History by many historians and the Roman writer Cicero.
Information:
- Students are to take and submit notes on the material assigned in The Martocchio Post.
- The material assigned will be discussed in class on Tuesdays.
- Students may work ahead of schedule if they wish.
- Students may test out of a Chapter in Social Studies by scoring 80% or higher on a Chapter Test. If the students scores 80% or higher on the Chapter Test then they do not have to read or take notes on that Chapter and can immediately move to the next Chapter.
- If the student scores below 80% on the Chapter Test, they have to read and take notes on the Chapter, and then take the Chapter Retest.
- The History/Social Sciences grade will appear in the History/Social Sciences section of the Report Card.
Three By Three Club (3 x 3 Club)
- Students who score a 3 or a 4 on three consecutive tests are in the ‘3 x 3 Club’.
- Students who are in the 3 x 3 Club can prepare for the next test in any way they choose.
- Students who are in the 3 x 3 Club don’t have to tell Mr. Martocchio how they are preparing for the next test, but if they do, Mr. Martocchio will record, in their Student Record, that they did some preparation.
- If a student does not tell Mr. Martocchio about any of their preparation for the next test, Mr. Martocchio will put ‘n/r’ into their Student Record for the weeks of preparation before the test.
